Songs From The Mekong is a musical documentary that features five different musicians from different backgrounds – faith, culture and musical styles – recording a song each day for five days. The intriguing aspect here is that the musicians travelled to the heart of a Cambodian jungle to commit themselves into creating and composing songs inspired with their rural surroundings. Therefore, the element of travel and adventure as musical genres are blended and the musicians’ differing personalities drive an interesting storyline that includes an improvised performance in an orphanage, a secluded boat cruise, missed airplanes and more.
This night will feature the musicians - Nadhira Nishaa (Malaysia), Jason Vandal Schadt (Canada), Azmyl Yunor (Malaysia), Gary Blanton (USA) and Steve Northcott (Canada) – and also a special guest, The Lyric Circle, coming together in the screening of this unique documentary film that is different from the rest. So, why don’t you come along and join us in this exciting adventure that is happening one night only! For more info, check out their facebook page or their website at www.onthebeatandpath.com.
